Charity makes urgent appeal for help bringing Christmas to struggling families
Isle of Thanet Gazette
|November 21, 2025
THE Salvation Army in Ramsgate is launching an urgent appeal for new toy donations this Christmas, as it fears that more local families than ever will struggle to cope with the cost-of-living crisis this festive season.
-
Last year the Ramsgate branch distributed gifts to more than 500 children across Thanet.
With financial worries intensifying, the church and charity are calling on the community to help ease the pressure on parents who cannot afford to heat their homes or put food on the table, let alone buy gifts.
Heather Whitewood, Salvation Army church leader and appeal coordinator, highlighted the importance of the public's generosity.
