£400m plan to help pre-school kids

A £400MILLION boost for early years and reception classes and a new network of family hubs will help parents give their kids the best start in life.

Ministers are preparing to bring back a revamped version of Sure Start - the hubs introduced under the last Labour government.

In 2010, there were 3,600 centres, but the numbers have since dwindled.
