Saddlers need to reboot from low point says Jimmy

WALSALL legend Jimmy Walker says Mat Sadler and Co have to “let go” of their disappointment at missing out on promotion if they are to survive the play-offs.

Despite holding a 12-point lead at the League Two summit at the start of 2025, the Saddlers missed out on the third and final promotion spot in gut-wrenching fashion as Bradford struck right at the death in their final match of the season against Fleetwood.

Walsall will now have to dust themselves down and get past Chesterfield, starting with a clash in front of a raucous home crowd at the SMH Group Stadium.

And Walker, who won three promotions with the Saddlers as a player, has no sympathy for his old club, who head into the play-offs in rotten form.
