Heimir wants Parrott-Ferguson strike pair

HEIMIR HALLGRIMSSON is ready to rip up his playbook to get Troy Parrott and Evan Ferguson firing together from the start for Ireland.

Parrott has become the new cult hero after his outrageous hat-trick against Hungary, while Ferguson remains a feared young striker who carried the load earlier in the campaign.

For most Ireland fans, the idea of starting both feels like destiny. For Hallgrimsson (right), it feels like common sense.

"I absolutely can't see why we can't pick both," he says. "Obviously we need to tweak the formation a little. But I don't see the reason why not."
