Explosive Gunners show they have the magic title touch

- By Paul Brown

JOSH Kroenke is predicting "magical nights" for Arsenal this season and they certainly cast a spell over Leeds.

But it came at a cost, with both Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka coming off with injuries.

The Gunners blew newly-promoted Leeds away with goals from Jurrien Timber and Saka putting them two up by the break.

Viktor Gyokeres got in on the act in the second half with his first goal in English football since 2023. He then added a stoppage-time penalty - won by 15-year-old debutant Max Dowman - after Timber had scored his second.

It all meant Mikel Arteta's men made it two wins from two with two clean sheets to start the season with a bang.

Co-chairman Kroenke had set the stage before kickoff. He wrote in his programme notes: "We've talked a lot this summer about reaching new heights and now it's time to do just that and put it all into practice.
