WALSALL will get a shot at redemption in the League Two play-off final next week after holding their nerve against Chesterfield.

- By DAN MARSH

The Saddlers were forced to dust themselves down for the play-offs after the wheels fell off their promotion push in spectacular fashion across the final two months of the season.

But Mat Sadler's side showed their mettle to string together wins in both legs to book a date with destiny against AFC Wimbledon at Wembley over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Goalscoring hero Charlie Lakin - who notched the opener in Friday night's 2-1 triumph - admitted the overriding emotion was “relief” as the club kept their promotion dream alive.

He said: “It's been a difficult two or three months but we've shown what we're about in the two games.
