Hard to find fault with the new MGS5 EV

MG sure is rattling the cars out at the moment and the latest all-electric offering just landed in Ireland - and you guessed it, it’s a medium sized SUV!

This is the latest MGS5 EV - and while it’s technically a second generation car, it’s actually been built from the ground up on the same platform as its MG4 sibling.

MG is eager to market this car with a three-pronged approach focusing on value, range and everyday usability to get you to part with your hard-earned cash.

Let's start with value and you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that this mid-size electric SUV starts off at €29,995 - a really aggressive price for MG in this most highly-competitve sector of the market.

Now that will just get you the entry level Excite trim but there's a lot to unpack in that.

For that you get a fairly small 49kW battery that will deliver a maximum range of 340km - plenty for tootling around town but certainly making that trip down the country one to be planned in advance.
