Coldplay kicked off the first of 10 sold-out nights in London with a cheeky nod to the US “kiss cam” moment that went viral.

Singer Chris Martin spotted a man in Friday's 80,000-strong Wembley crowd holding a sign saying he wanted to propose to his partner.

As the camera panned in on him and the woman, Chris joked: “Now listen, my brother... I need you to nod as I do some very basic security checks, OK?

“Is this person your partner? Yes? No one else's partner?”
