Burton chop down the Wood with five-star performance

BURTON ALBION ended Boreham Wood's FA Cup journey with a ruthless display at Meadow Park.

The Wood Army's status as fifth-tier opposition made them the underdogs on paper, but Burton had every reason to not trifle with the north Londoners.

Luke Gerrard's team came into the third-round contest having beaten League Two sides Crawley Town and Newport County in previous rounds.

They also brought with them a run of four wins and a draw in their last five games, while the Brewers were looking to end a run of three defeats in a row.
