Barrichello: Letting Piastri and Norris battle it out is fantastic
Irish Sunday Mirror
|August 24, 2025
RUBENS BARRICHELLO has heaped praise on McLaren for allowing a "fully open" title fight between its drivers.
And, with just nine points separating the pair with 10 rounds to go, the Brazilian cannot choose between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Former Ferrari racer Barrichello said: "It is a good battle. It is everybody's world, it is not set and you do not know who is going to win, which makes it more exciting."
McLaren have been in a league of their own this season, winning all but three of the 14 grands prix held so far.
They are 299 points ahead of nearest rivals Ferrari, heading into next Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix, and are all-but assured of the constructors' title.
