Moyes: Stadium's great... team needs a LOT more work

- By SIMON MULLOCK

A LONG WAY FROM HOME

THE theme tune from Z-Cars sounded out at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the very first time - but then came an Italian Job.

Roma midfielder Matias Soule claimed the honour of becoming the first player to score a goal in front of a packed house at Everton's spectacular new home.

Exasperated Toffees fans were left wondering whether they really can look forward to a fresh start here - or just more of the same.

Everton have invested £750million on a ground that will become an iconic Premier League stage. The key now is to build a team to grace it.

Blues fans will be hoping owner Dan Friedkin will add generously to the £50m kitty that David Moyes has spent on five new players already this summer - including midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (below right) from Chelsea in a deal worth around £28m.
