TAOISEACH Micheal Martin sat in a shell-shocked room of world leaders as Donald Trump took a series of wrecking balls to the world order.

- BY NEIL LESLIE

The US President unveiled a global version of his American Carnage speech in front of 150 heads of state, warning Ireland and EU nations: “Your countries are going to hell.”

He blamed the “double tailed monster” of immigration and climate policies for ruining the “beautiful Europe” that he loves, declaring its countries were failing and that London was facing Sharia Law.

“I'm telling you that if you don't get away from the ‘green energy’ scam, your country is going to fail,” Trump said. “If you don't stop people that you've never seen before that you have nothing in common with your country is going to fail.”

Trump added: “I love the people of Europe, and I hate to see it being devastated by energy and immigration. This double-tailed monster destroys everything in its wake, and they cannot let that happen any longer.”

VENGEFUL

In an hour-long address to mark 80 years of the UN he launched missile after missile at the postwar order.

The speech ranged from vengeful to self congratulatory to bizarre and was filled with lies, unsubstantiated claims and misinformation according to many analysts.

Trump launched his most full frontal assault yet on the world’s efforts to fight climate change.

He branded it a “hoax” and a “con job” and warned “going green equals going bankrupt”.

McGrath eyes top award

TIPPERARY duo John McGrath and Jake Morris will battle it out with Cork's Brian Hayes for the PwC Hurler of the Year award. If McGrath (right) lifts the award - voted for by the GPA's inter-county mem- bership - it would cap a remarkable renaissance year when he won his Tipperary place back and went on to land his third All- Ireland title. McGrath (31) hit 7-16 from play with his goals vital in Tipperary's against-the-head All-Ireland triumph.
