Irishman accused of sex attack in Boston during Patrick's Day trip

- DANNY DE VAAL

A WOMAN who was allegedly raped by Irish firefighter Terence Crosbie in a Boston hotel room sobbed while testifying yesterday.

The 29-year-old lawyer, who was giving evidence for the second day of a rape trial in the Suffolk Superior Court, said: “I woke up, and a guy was inside of me.”

Mr Crosbie, who is from Dublin and has been in custody since March last year, has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors claim the firefighter raped a “female stranger” while she slept at the Omni Parker House Hotel on March 14, 2024. Mr Crosbie was in Boston to take part in the St Patrick's Day parade with colleagues from Dublin Fire Brigade at the time.

Mr Crosbie's defence team says he did not rape the woman and his DNA was not found on her.
