Winner Jonjo Jr in Michael tribute

JONJO O'Neill Jr paid tribute to the late Michael O'Sullivan after guiding Jagwar to an emotional success in the TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday.

O'Neill was enjoying only his second victory at the Festival but his thoughts were dominated by his good friend when passing the winning post.

The young jockey, son of legendary pilot and trainer Jonjo, told ITV Racing: "I had my first Festival winner about six years ago and it has felt like a lifetime. But a month ago, when poor old Mikey died, I definitely had a different perspective on life."
