Villans battle back to extend Frank's winless run vs Emery
ASTON VILLA battled back to record a fifth straight victory in all competitions at Tottenham, who cannot seem to buy a Premier League win of their own on home soil.
Morgan Rogers' first-half firecracker and Emi Buendia's ruthless, pinpoint finish enabled Unai Emery to heap more misery upon Thomas Frank, after Rodrigo Bentancur had smashed Spurs ahead inside five minutes. The Europa League winners have now dropped points in each of their past three topflight home matches and since the start of last season, Spurs have also surrendered more points from winning positions at home (19) than any other Premier League outfit.
Remarkably, the five defeats they have been forced to stomach during that time-frame is also a league-high.
Frank's winless run against bogey boss Emery has now been extended to six games two draws, four defeats and that is the most he has ever faced an opposition manager without winning. The Dane has also won just one of his nine matches against Villa, stretching back to his time in charge at Brentford.
