Two assault rifles stashed inside van

GARDAI believe a mid-level organised crime gang used a noncriminal to store dangerous assault rifles and drugs.

Officers with the Dublin Crime Response Team raided a property in Oldtown, Co Dublin, where they uncovered an AR assault rifle, a Heckler and Koch assault rifle and 130 rounds of ammunition.

The guns and ammo were uncovered in a container in a van - while €775,000 worth of cannabis was discovered in sheds at the property.
