ANTHONY YARDE battled through a severely bloodied nose and late punches but couldn't take his third shot at a world title.

The 34-year-old Brit from Hackney put up a battling show against WBC light-heavyweight champion David Benavidez.

But the powerful and lightning-quick American of Mexican heritage was too good and forced a stoppage in the seventh round of a fight he controlled after recovering from a slow start.
