The funeral arrangements for Tipperary manager Philly Ryan, who died aged 57, have been announced as family, friends and community come to terms with his tragic passing.

- BY KARL O'KANE

Ryan died suddenly on Saturday and will be buried on Wednesday at St Patrick's Cemetery, Clonmel, following mass at St Peter and Paul's Church (1pm).

He will repose at Condon's Funeral Parlour in Clonmel tomorrow evening (4pm to 7pm).

Tributes have poured in for Ryan, who completed his second year as Tipperary senior football manager this season, after a fine playing career.

The long-serving goalkeeper joined the Tipperary senior panel in 1987 and retired in 2003.

He won five county senior championships with Clonmel Commercials, debuting at senior level as a 16 year old, and captained Tipperary to the All-ireland B title back in 1995.
