RTE'S Dancing With The Stars contestant Brian Kennedy has opened up about his “extraordinary" journey on the show after his health challenges.

The Belfast singer, 59, took to the dancefloor to compete after suffering a massive heart attack, quadruple bypass surgery and a cancer battle that left him with a colostomy and urostomy bag.

Brian and his professional partner James Cutler were voted off the show on Sunday after three weeks, but the star said the experience gave him an incredible “receipt” of his restored health.

In a moment of extraordinary candour, Kennedy recounted a terrifying, last-minute emergency just before he took to the stage.
