RUBEN AMORIM has revealed he appreciated Jim Ratcliffe saying he should be given three years in charge of Manchester United.

United co-owner Ratcliffe made an appearance on The Business podcast during the international break, discussing Amorim's future, the media narrative around the club and the alleged decline of the Red Devils' academy.

The United co-owner said of Amorim (above): "He has not had the best of seasons. Ruben needs to demonstrate he is a great coach over three years. That's where I would be."

Asked if the Glazers had told him to sack the head coach, Ratcliffe replied: "It's not going to happen."
