Taxis during Xmas scarce so pre-book'

THE Taxis for Ireland Coalition has called on people socialising during the festive period to pre-book cabs due to an expected “major" shortage.

As celebrations ramp up, the availability of taxis is expected to fall far short of demand, the group warned.

Georgia Heathman, of ride-hailing service Bolt, said: “During the busy Christmas period, we note that a significant number of drivers turn off their apps and resort to roadside pickups only.
