Manufacturers unveil their most powerful combustion-engine version

SKODA has expanded the Superb range with the introduction of a new 200kW plugin hybrid powertrain to the Superb Hatchback variant.

The new Superb Hatch (often mistaken as a saloon) joins the Superb Combi, which already offers plugin hybrid technology, further strengthening the model's electrified lineup.

With a total system output of 200 kW (268bhp), it also becomes the most powerful combustion-engine version in the current Superb range.

Škoda introduced plugin hybrid technology with the Superb iV in 2019, followed by the Octavia iV a year later and the plugin hybrid Kodiaq in 2024. The existing 150kW plugin hybrid powertrain will continue to be offered in the Superb Combi.

For the Superb Hatch in Sportline and Laurin & Klement specifications, the new 200kW plugin hybrid variant will be the sole plugin hybrid option.
