OZZY Osbourne was kept alive by the thought of his emotional farewell gig in his home city, his pal Steve Jones believes.

Rock legend Ozzy, who died at the age of 76 on Tuesday - just weeks after the July 5 concert - had battled Parkinson's disease for years.

And he was in agony due to back, neck and leg pain before the Back to the Beginning show at Villa Park in his home town Birmingham.

Steve, who played guitar for The Sex Pistols, said: "He was a legend and he was brilliant.
