THE sons of a woman who was doused in accelerant and set on fire have told how she now faces “a lifetime of challenges”.

- BY PAUL HEALY Crime Correspondent

Alexis Lee Campion, 44, was left in an induced coma and fighting for her life after a thug connected to a drugs gang set her on fire when she answered her front door in Oak Downs, Clondalkin, West Dublin.

It is understood the mum-of-two is still in ICU and concerns remain for her well-being into the future.

Her adult sons Carl and Ryan have set up a fundraiser online as they plead with members of the public to help fund their mother's long road to recovery.

In a post on GoFundMe, Carl and Ryan said the attack on November 25 changed their lives forever.

They wrote: "Our mum was the victim of a brutal and deliberate arson attack that left her with critical burns to over 35% of her body. This was not an accident - it was a violent act that has caused devastating and permanent damage to her life.
