Furlong joins list of Lions legends today even if he doesn't think he deserves to be in their company
TADHG FURLONG will join legends of the Lions today but admits he still feels like an imposter in their company.
The Irish tight-head will make his ninth consecutive Test start for the tourists, over three trips, in the final clash of the series against the Wallabies in Sydney.
Furlong joins Wales great Alun Wyn Jones (below) and England's legendary scrumhalf of the 1950s Dickie Jeeps at 9th in the record books but still six behind Willie John McBride, captain of the 1974 Invincibles.
Crucially, none of the sequences beyond Furlong and Co came in the professional era.
The 32-year-old, who made his Test debut for the Lions in 30-15 opening defeat to New Zealand in 2017, reckons he still does not deserve to be ranked in that company but most rugby fans would disagree.
Furlong said: “It wasn't something I overly thought about.
