Singer on first LP & new tour

IRISH actor and musician Niall McNamee is gearing up for a massive Irish tour for his debut album Glass And Mirrors.

Influenced by the likes of The Pogues and Christy Moore but equally Oasis, Coldplay, Paul Brady and even Brian Wilson, Niall puts a modern twist on his Irish heritage, mixing the best of Celtic post-punk passion with a 21st century alt-rock perspective in the new record.

"I was pretty depressed when I wrote the song Glass And Mirrors," Niall tells The Scene. "I found writing songs about heartbreak in romantic relationships and stuff a real way out of feeling terrible, but that one felt different.

"There's a lot to Glass And Mirrors the song. It's quite uncomfortable for me to even listen to it.

"It was always the name of the album and it was always going to be on there. Glass And Mirrors the song was never going to be a single. I'm not expecting that particular song to kick off or whatever... but I felt the name, for whatever reason, just encapsulated two sides of my story."
