Fresh hunt to find remains of women who vanished two days apart in 1995

AFRESH search is underway to find the remains of murdered women Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob.

Investigators are engaging in a comprehensive search of an area of open ground near the Wicklow/Kildare border.

Officers investigating the murders of the missing women already carried out a dig at a different part of the site in rural Co Wicklow for several days in February.

The latest search operation is centred on land at Castleruddery Upper — right in the heart of the area where monster Larry Murphy, 61, prowled.

We previously revealed how officers decided to dig at the large sand pit over suspicions that rapist Murphy abducted and murdered student teacher Ms Jacob, who was 18 when she vanished from outside her home in Newbridge in Co Kildare in July 1998.

That is around 30km from the search site, which is located close to the N81, the main road between Wicklow and south Dublin.
