Taylor not putting up with Serrano camp’s ‘whining’ ahead of rematch

- ROBERT HYNES

MORE THAN WORDS

KATIE TAYLOR will do what she has always done tonight - her talking in the ring.

The undisputed super-lightweight champion has been dragged into a war of words by Amanda Serrano ahead of their trilogy fight at Madison Square Garden.

Comments made by the Puerto Rican and her team have clearly irked Taylor and she has had no problem speaking her mind during fight week, something which she has seldom done throughout her career.

The Bray Bomber was deducted a point in the eighth round of their last fight after being warned against leading with the head, with Serrano and her team labelling her a dirty fighter afterwards." Firing back at those accusations, Taylor said: "I have my own opinion about the stuff that Amanda has been saying and her team, but the fact is that I am 2-0 against her.

"Opinions are opinions, but facts are facts, and you can't get away from those facts. And, yeah, I guess I'm just sick of the complaining and whining from her team." Serrano again brought up the head clashes during their final press conference. However, it remains to be seen if the awful cut she suffered to her right eye as a result of one of them has fully healed.

"I'm going to use my head, but not the way it was used on me, but we're going to be smarter," stated Serrano. "We're going to be smarter, work smarter.
