SOMETIMES it's not possible to find the words to sum up something that happens so unexpectedly.

Which makes it hard for somebody like me to string a few of them together for a piece like this.

But then again, the Irish Daily Star's photographer extraordinaire, Mick O'Neill, never did make it easy for reporters out on the beat with him.

For Mick, there was simply never cutting any corners when it came to sniffing out a good story. It was all about sheer hard graft and patience, using your smarts and charm when needed, and then back to the hard graft again.
