MEATH GIVING IT THEIR WALL

MEATH THRIVED on being underdogs in most games this season according to defender Sarah Wall - but she said they knew they'd the work done to carry them to victory over TG4 All-Ireland champions Kerry at Glenisk O'Connor Park in Tullamore on Saturday.

"I just can’t put into words the amount of hard work the team has put in this year,” said the Player of the Match after their TG4 All-Ireland semifinal win. “We've been underdogs the entire time, but we just said today ‘not today, it's our day’. We said we had to bring it from the start. I think we all stood up today and I'm so proud of everyone.

“We always just said ‘if we're under any struggle or anything, we have to find a way’. That was it. We just put that out from the start.”

They will now face Dublin in the TG4 All-Ireland final on August 3 and Wall said winning the title was the goal from the outset.
