DONALD Trump has sacked bungling Mike Waltz from his post as National Security Adviser.

Waltz’s exit comes after he added a journalist to a group chat on messaging app Signal that discussed information about US airstrikes.

Democrat Tim Walz, Kamala Harris's running mate in last year’s presidential race, wasted no time in mocking the Republican, posting: “Mike Waltz has left the chat”

But in what is thought to be a face-saving move by the President, who had defended the gaffe, Waltz has been moved into another role rather than being jettisoned from government entirely.
