Lag known to Tadgh & Mary arrested over jail assault

Suspected of attacking another inmate in an incident that led to house firebomb revenge horror

A PRISONER who is known to murder victims Tadgh Farrell and Mary Holt has been arrested over an assault the day before the tragedy.

The 27-year-old was arrested in the Midlands Prison yesterday on suspicion of attacking another inmate the day before the firebomb attack which claimed Tadgh and Mary's lives in Edenderry, Co Offaly.

As this paper had revealed, gardai suspect the lag who was assaulted by this man contacted his criminal associates on the outside - and the firebomb attack on the house was ordered.

The attack is believed to form part of a wider drugs dispute between local criminals.
