Champions in the mood to spend, spend, spend as Wirtz and Kerkez turn up Anfield heat

LIVERPOOL'S rivals should be sweating - and not just because of the soaring UK temperatures.

The Reds have turned up the heat in the transfer market and are further strengthening a squad which won the Premier League title at a canter.

Boss Arne Slot wants a team ready to fight on all four fronts next season and sporting director Richard Hughes is helping him build it.

Arsenal are still searching for the striker they should have bought in either of the last two windows, and Manchester United are trying to convince a target to join them not Tottenham while Liverpool are breaking the British transfer record.

This weekend alone they are spending €183million on two players who are just 21 and 22 and extremely highly-rated. And before this heatwave is over, they are already looking at taking their summer spending beyond €235m.
