KIELY: WE ARE IN SUCH GOOD PLACE
Irish Daily Star
|May 19, 2025
JOHN KIELY said that his Limerick charges are back to their old selves after winning back-to-back games for the first time this year.
The Treaty had a difficult League campaign, winning just two of their six matches and closing with defeats to Kilkenny and Wexford, the first of which was weather-delayed and Kiely claimed that disruption had an effect which they've only recently come to terms with.
Albeit there were only two match points at stake here, it was clear how much it meant to the Limerick players as they made their way down the tunnel amid backslaps from their fans that thronged the field.
"Of course, it did (mean a lot)," said Kiely. "We got beaten by Cork twice last year. They are one of the top teams in the country.
"You're at home in the Gaelic Grounds in the Championship, you only have two games here so we have to deliver on days like today. You have to deliver, you just have to. There is no out on it.
