'Family man' in police probe, More victims come forward

- BY MARTIN FRICKER, HOLLIE BONE and LUCY THORNTON

'It doesn't feel right... he's a fantastic guy

NEIGHBOURS were stunned to see police officers and vans outside the home of a "family man" held for driving into the Liverpool parade.

Police have been given extra time to quiz the 53-year-old, from the West Derby area of the city, on suspicion of attempted murder and drug-driving.

But even as more victims came forward, bringing the total injured to 79, the dad-of-three's neighbours found the news difficult to take in.

One said: "It seems completely out of character. They are such a nice family, the boys are really well-behaved.

"[He] is a fantastic guy. He came over to help us when our alarm went off once, and then did the same for our immediate neighbours too. It just doesn't make sense. It doesn't feel right.

"They are lovely. The whole thing is so sad for his wife and children and the people who were injured." PARTIES The suspect, a former director of two companies, can be seen posing in pictures on social media enjoying overseas holidays and family parties.

Another neighbour added that when they saw police descend on the quiet cul-de-sac on Monday they joked about a neighbour being the suspect - only to discover in horror he had been arrested.
