NICK GRIGGS won a sensational individual gold and inspired Ireland to a team victory at the European Cross Country Championships in Portugal yesterday.

The Tyrone runner had already won three silver medals in the men’s U23 race at the championships in his short but illustrious career, but he was never going to be denied gold this time around.
