THE Football Review Committee (FRC) final report landed this week and it is a comprehensive piece of work, to say the least.

Safely packaged away and filed just in time for Jim Gavin's run at the Áras.

One respondent to a survey declared 'Football is back baby,' and there seems little doubt the full package of rule changes will fly through GAA Special Congress in early October.

It hasn't been all plain sailing with the report highlighting concerns about the game voiced by respondents, and other rules which didn't work out as intended.

These include the lesser spotted advanced mark, the value of a goal, the two-point free, the volume of hand passing, fisted points and the diminished role of the goalkeeper.
