Kane has used his Gunners rejection as fuel on road to the top

- BY JOHN CROSS

THE pictures of Harry Kane in an Arsenal shirt have become infamous.

The former Tottenham captain even dyed his hair red in one childhood snap from his days in the Arsenal academy.

Another has Kane in a team picture playing for Arsenal's under-eights in full kit when he could only dream of becoming England's record scorer.

Kane is setting remarkable scoring feats with Bayern Munich and will surely be the biggest threat to Arsenal at the Emirates tonight.

He is so clearly fired up after being rejected as a kid and has admitted that he used it to spur him on - and has 15 goals in 21 games against them for Bayern and Tottenham.

“Probably throughout my career,” said Kane in September 2024. “Starting from when I was eight years old being released from Arsenal. That might have built a bit of desire to prove to them.”

But what is the real story as to why he was released?
