Coonan film sends up Hollywood's paddywhackery

IT'S often depicted in Hollywood movies as a land of leprechauns where rival drunken clans batter eachother with shillelaghs.

Hit movies such as PS I Love You, Far and Away and Irish Wish have also done little to banish the stereotype of the Emerald Isle as a backwater inhabited by hard-drinking fightin' Irish.

But now Dublin's emigration museum has sent up the cinematic paddywhackery with a hoax clip of a spoof “Oirish” film starring Love/Hate's Peter Coonan.
