Do-or-die for Munster and play-off quest

IAN Costello insists Munster’s reaction to losing to Champions Cup final debutants Bordeaux has been more damaging to their URC play-off hopes than Graham Rowntree's departure.

The Reds lost their URC winning coach just six games into the this season. With just two regular games left, the Reds are in ninth place and needing a Thomond Park victory over Ulster on Friday night to keep their hopes alive.

“High performance sport is around consistency, and change is always difficult,” said Costello (above).

“I think we got an initial bounce and then things stabilised.

“We've also been competing with an injury list that was probably difficult to compete on two fronts.
