Descendant of Rising fighter's therapy in art
Irish Daily Star
|October 06, 2025
A GRANDNEPHEW of one of the 1916 Rising leaders said a near-fatal swimming pool accident changed the course of his life.
Eamonn Ceannt stumbled into a sculpture class that helped him recover from his devastating injuries, sustained after diving into the water.
Now the acclaimed sculptor, 72, is preparing for Choreo, a semi-retrospective exhibition of his work at Gormleys Gallery in Dublin later this month.
Mr Ceannt, who shares his name with the 1916 leader, said he was "extraordinarily lucky to have found sculpture".
