Coscoran’s star continues to rise as he prepares for Tokyo final

ANDREW COSCORAN has vowed not to leave anything out there in today's 1,500m World Athletics Championship final in Tokyo (2.20pm Irish time).

For Coscoran (29) it was the fulfilment of a long-held ambition to reach a major final and, having impressed in finishing fifth in a bunched semifinal, he is determined not to let this chance pass.

The Balbriggan man is on an upward curve after finishing sixth in the European Indoors (3,000m) and World Indoors (1,500m) earlier this year. ‘I've been trying to make a world final (outdoor) for about five years” he said.

“I've put a lot of work in and made some mistakes along the way, but everything clicked. I’m absolutely chuffed.
