Electronic producer on hopes for new album

ARTIST and producer Elaine Mai, a key voice in the Irish electronic scene, is back with her highly anticipated second album, For Us.

Dropped in late September, the record features a talented mix of collaborators, including Faye O'Rourke of Soda Blonde, Sinéad White, MayKay, MuRli and children from the Lajee centre in Palestine.

"I've been noodling with it for so long and kind of trying to get it to the finish line, that it was really nice to put it out into the world," Elaine told the Star's Scene.

"I think whenever you're making music, and anything creative, you could keep at it forever, you could keep tinkering with it forever.

"It's good to be able to draw a line and say, this is what it was at this time in my life, and it's free now into the world.

"I had the album launch a couple of weeks ago in Dublin, and that was a lot of fun.

"What's been really nice about it is that I feel like it's kind of given a new lease of life to it, because trying to get something recorded and released is very different to when you try and play it live.
