Council wants input on pedestrianised area plans

City centre gets Green light for radical revamp

DUBLIN City Council has unveiled pre-planning designs for its Grow College Green project - setting out a vision to transform one of the capital’s most historic spaces into a greener, people-first destination.

The plan aims to reimagine College Green not just as a place to shop, work and gather, but as a calmer urban space where people can pause, breathe and reconnect amid the bustle of city life.

The updated designs, now open for public consultation until March 11 on Engage.ie, have been shaped by more than a year of public engagement, including thousands of submissions and face-to-face sessions with residents, businesses and community groups.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, has encouraged people to engage with this new vision for the city.

He said: “Grow College Green is an exciting step in celebrating Dublin, not just our history, but the living, working, evolving city we are today.

“This project will reimagine one of our most iconic spaces as a destination for everyone, somewhere you can walk through easily, meet friends, sit in the sunshine, enjoy the buzz of the city, or simply take a breath in the middle of a busy day”
