Call to follow Spanish PM's lead and condemn attacks

TAOISEACH Micheal Martin has been urged to follow the Spanish prime minister and condemn the US's attacks on Iran.

Micheal Martin should not be offering an official invite in and around that event.

A spokesperson for the Taoiseach, who is due to meet Trump in Washington next week for St Patrick's Day, said the situation in the Middle East was discussed during his meeting with Mr Sanchez yesterday.

They also spoke about Ireland's EU Presidency later this year, the EU-US trade agreement and the Spanish President's memories of Ireland.

This comes as Sinn Fein said it will introduce a bill to cut fuel and heating costs as fuel prices have climbed above €2 per litre in stations.

After Trump said the war in Iran was “very complete, pretty much”, crude oil fell to around $92 after almost reaching $120 on Monday.
