Dee and Peter work their magic on more spaces in need of a big transformation

- BY SEAN MURPHY

Building on kindness

TV show Home Rescue is back to change lives with mini-miracles that turn everyday properties into lovely, liveable spaces.

The home makeover series features designer Dee Coleman and builder Peter Finn, who are passionate and professional about what they do.

In this series, the team transforms homes for a blind man who is struggling in a cluttered family house, a woman with brain cancer and a family coping with a sudden loss.

Brickie Peter, from Rathcoole, Dublin, told The Star: “We live in a world with a housing crisis and there is a bit of separation between the haves and have-nots. Home Rescue is about helping good, solid, ordinary people who are just stuck in a bit of a rut.

“We carry out mini-miracles. It’s our best series yet. We really have done some excellent work. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and drama that comes from the relationship between myself and my co-host Dee.

“The battle between designer and builder comes into full effect in Home Rescue. Big decisions have to be made in a race against the clock.”

UNIQUE

And Dee told us: “What we do on Home Rescue is utterly unique. Some people have a house that isn’t working for them and that’s where we come in.

“We remove that stress from their lives. It’s like waving a magic wand. You wouldn’t invite a camera crew into your house unless you really needed help.

“You're exposing your home in a vulnerable state to the Irish nation. The people who we have had on the show this year blew my mind.
