Brain injury's not slapstick for hurt boy

A YOUNG boy got a lollipop stick stuck in his brain after falling over while eating the treat.

Xiao Zhu was rushed to hospital after the terrible accident took place in Guangdong, China.

The six-year-old fell over as he ate the sweet which was attached to a bamboo stick.

As a result, the stick penetrated his mouth and travelled through to the base of his skull, and reached his brain.

His mother became extremely concerned by his cries, and rushed him straight to a hospital.
