BOBBY POINTON needed just 12 seconds to send Bradford top of League Two - and now the Bantams plan to stay there.

BANTAMS RULE ROOST AFTER BOBBY DAZZLE

Pointon's (celebrating, above) quickfire strike set up Bradford's 2-0 home victory over Crewe which moved them above long-time leaders Walsall, beaten 3-2 at home by Port Vale.

“The goal was so early I wondered if that might change our performance,” Bantams boss Graham Alexander said after Calum Kavanagh had wrapped up their 12th victory in 13 home games.

“I was interested to see if we'd sit back and try to manage it. But we didn't, we kept going and were really aggressive.”

PORT VALE hurdled WALSALL into second spot - behind Bradford on goal difference - after a crazy first half in which they struck early, trailed 2-1, and led 3-2 by the break.
