FIFA honours Trump while Ireland may be set for Mexico

DONALD Trump was last night awarded the very first Fifa Peace Prize.

Presenting him with the award, FIFA supremo Gianni Infantino said the US president had been selected because of his “extraordinary actions to promote peace”.

He added: “This is your prize. There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”

A clearly delighted Mr Trump said: “The world is a safer place now. The USA was not doing well a year ago, now we are the hottest country in the world right now. This is truly one of the great honours of my life.”

Evan Whitfield, chairman of the US-based Human Rights Soccer Alliance, said: "President Trump should not be rewarded with any kind of peace prize.”
