Too stubborn & out of his depth

PRESSURE continues to mount on Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim. Despite still struggling in the summer, Manchester United are still struggling under Ruben Amorim. Time for him to go?

- JOHN CROSS Chief Football Writer

ENOUGH is enough - time to go. Amorim looks horribly out of his depth and it is time Manchester United put him out of his misery.

I hate to see managers lose their jobs and I've been someone who has said all along that United have to give Amorim time, otherwise they will get stuck in a vicious circle of sack, hire, repeat.

But the latest defeat at Brentford summed it all up - they looked like a rudderless ship, paralysed by a stupid formation and system which just does not suit these players.

The most remarkable thing is the way the fans have given him so much support and backing. They have been incredible.

And you cannot question the board's backing either. Their summer spending spree was massive and all designed to help Amorim's failing tactics work.

But his record is shocking. Nine wins from 33 Premier League games in charge. Their start to the season has been woeful. They struggled to beat Burnley and only just got over the line against 10-man Chelsea.
